GiNger-Licious Homemade Paratha WrAp

Out of the blue, ginger-licious decided to prepare homemade paratha wrap as ginger-licious sista is addicted to hot and roll paratha wrap.

The ingredients needed are as simple as below

1. One Pack of Paratha India Flatbread (any brand will do)

2. Cooking Oil

3. 1 pinch salt and black pepper to taste

For the filling: ( You are alwayz welcome to explore on the fillings that you prefer)

1. 1-2 Sausages, chopped

2. Formaggio cheese powder

3. Slice of cheese

Direction

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Fried the sausages about 5 minutes. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper to tase. Cook for 1 minute more and remember stirring occasionally, until they are cooked,Sprinkle in some cheese powder and stir for awhile.Remove from the heat and set aside.

2. Heat the frying pan over medium heat. Brush the skillet with oil or use cooking spray.

Place a circle of dough into the preheated skillet. Spread 3 tablespoons of filling over the dough. Cook until the bottom of the bread has browned, about 3 minutes. Lower the heat and carefully turn the paratha over with a spatula. Place the fillings prepared and cook for an additional 5 minutes and it's ready to be transferred to a cutting board.

4. Flip the paratha into half to enclose the filling.

5. Cut each stuffed paratha in half and it's ready to serve.

When we talk about SS2, the first thing that strikes most people is Murni. But then this looked more appealing to Ginger. This place was recommended by Ginger's sister as she lived just nearby. The snacks and their manggo ice were the few things that attracted Ginger.

Do try their seaweed roll. The sauce was made out from a combination of wasabi and mayonnaise. Truly a tasty one.

Ginger liked their Manggo ice the most compared to honey dew ice and red bean ice. Indeed a refreshing dessert on a hot and humid weather we have in Malaysia!

Curry Mee. Bukit Serdang

Supper anyone?? Ginger is extremely hungry right now but too bad I am not a Bukit Serdang right now. For someone who likes heavy supper, here you go, this post is dedicated to you. This shop operates from 9.45pm to past midnight. Even at 12am, there is still plentiful customers. It is not difficult to locate this stall selling curry if you can follow instructions well. It is located diagonally opposite Hoi Tong, the famous steamboat restaurant in Bukit Serdang.

The way how someone rates the curry mee can be really subjective. The curry is made with heavy santan. Some may dislike it and some may love it very much. It comes in a big portion heavily garnished with oyster, pork skin, surimi etc. The amount will be too much for individual who are not used to taking supper.

Ginger likes the fried wantan sold there. They are crispy and crunchy. But then, Ginger has seen some negative reviews on their wantan. Really, everyone has different taste buds, and hence different preference. No flogger can guarantee that their readers love each and every dishes that the floggers recommended. It is still very dependent on the individual itself to judge if the food are nice or the other way round.

Wing Kat Fong Ma Cai Chee Chong Fun & Lai Fun Soup, Menglembu, Perak

All the way from Menglembu, Ginger presents you Ma Chai Chee Cheong Fun and also Menglembu lai fun soup (rice noodles).

The attraction of Ma Chai Chee Cheong fun is on the curry alone. There are chicken curry, wild boar curry, okra cooked with curry, sotong curry, sambal petai, etc. So far, of all the curry CCF that Ginger have tasted, this is the best CCF. After a round of hill-climbing at Kledang Hill just nearby, everyone was so hungry that they gulped down the CCF is just a blink of an eye. Was it too tasty or was everyone that hungry?

The second stall that Ginger is going to introduce to you guys are this stall located diagonally opposite Wing Kat Fong(Ma Chai CCF). If not mistaken, this is the only stall that sells Soup Rice Noodle (lai fun soup).

The rice noodles are slightly thicker than the ordinary ones you get in laksa. The rice noodles were just so-so. Ginger's friend went for the curry noodles instead. Ginger has no idea how to curry noodle is. But it does seem pretty good from the appearance.

Izzi, Kuala Lumpur

Long ago, Ginger attended a birthday bash held in Izzi, Bukit Bintang. Izzi is based on the concept of dishing up authentic Italian cuisine as well as well-loved Asian staples. No doubt you can find pizzas, salads, and pastas in their menu. It is shocking enough to find Char Keuy Teow and noodles like Vietnamese noodles too!

Overall, the surrounding is rather ambient and cosy. The waiters were decent and nice. But then the food disappointed us. We found residues of chicken feathers on the chicken steak and that gross us all. Their pizzas are overrated. But then, if a comfy place to have long chit chat is what you are looking for, this is where you should be!

Fat Shi Fu Dim Sum, Ipoh (發師傅港式點心)

Heard about this place a few times before eventually I went there with my friends long time ago.

When we talking about dim sum in Ipoh, the response that I always get is positive. Most of the people are familiar with Fu Shan, Ming Kok, or Yuk Fook Moon. Little did they know, there's another dim sum restaurant just around the corner. To avoid a big crowd in a Saturday/Sunday morning, you might want to consider to visit Fat Sifu Dim Sum as it is less crowded compared to others.

See the varieties you get here? Do not underestimate the ability of the sifu working in this restaurant. Rumour has it that Fat sifu used to work in Fu Shan. But the genuineness of such rumour is yet to be confirmed. But why does it matter if the food are outstandingly wonderful right?

Crystal Dumpling

The pastry chef is kind enough to stuff the char siew bao with bountiful pork filling. Nevertheless, the pork filling was moist, juicy and tender. Same applies to the fried shrimp roll. You can see pieces of shrimp jutting out from the wrapping.

Klang makan trip -- Phase II

Hello folks, welcome to Klang makan trip phase II. Today, Ginger is going to kill three birds with one stop. I am going to show you around three different restaurants in Klang that offers different type of delicacies.

1.Restaurant Hakka Food Fair, Taman Eng Ann, Klang （客家八宝店）

One specialty about this restaurant is Lou Shu Fun with Pork Feet. The lou shu fun tasted so-so for me. But then Ginger did not tasted the the pork feet. So if you like to know how it taste like, do visit the restaurant yourself. Afterall, it does you no harm trying something new right?

2.Restaurant S M (森记家乡酿豆腐)

Judging by its appearance, Restaurant S M seems to be a place with at least 50 years of history eh? At this wooden building, you can find lovely chu cheong fun with fishballs, beancurd stuffings, stuffed ladies fingers, etc. Ginger would rate it a three on a scale of five since it was exceptionally good nor it was bad.

3. Restaurant Yo Yo Ice, Bandar Bukit Tinggi

Ginger and friends arrived at Yo Yo Ice around 5pm . When we reached there, their oh-so-famous fried chicken was sold out. There were not much yo yo ice left either. All that was left was red bean flavour and corn flavour. Ginger was opting for the sour plum flavour but had to settle down with red bean since all other flavours are sold out.

The yo yo ice goes for RM1.50 per cup. Whereas fried chicken goes from RM2.00 to RM2.20 depending of the portion of the chicken.

4. Prawn Mee, Klang Utama

This prawn mee that we had somewhere nearby Ginger's friends house was pretty good. At least everyone of us finished up the bowl of mee. Looking at the picture itself make me drools. The bowl of prawn mee topped with fried shallot improves the taste to the max.

Klang makan trip -- Phase I

In the forthcoming entries, Ginger is going to bring you on a makan trip in Klang. Credits to Ginger's coursemates who arranged this makan trip.

We were brought to this street located a Pandamaran where there are one long stretch of stalls operating late at night. There was a big crowd when Ginger and friends reached there. We had to eye for empty tables as all the tables were fully occupied.

There were five of us, so we ordered all five of the "ching bou leong" sold there. They looked more or less the same but each does have their significant taste. Among all five dessert seen on the picture above, Ginger fancy the boiled peanut least.

The other thing that we ate here were the beancurd stuffings and also other processed surimi. Look eat the mountainous food sold there. (picture below) Worry not. There is a constant supply of food. You do not have to worry that the stall will run out of food even if you arrived late at night.

Pulau Ketam Half Day Trip

Some few months ago, Ginger went on a half-day trip to "Crab Island" aka Pulau Ketam. If you say crab island, I would relate to seafood, scorching hot weather, bicycles, and no night life. As for the city dwellers like us who are so used to the indoor life, the skin get a burning sensation as the sunlight penetrates through our skin.

Back to where we should be as this is a foodblog, not a personal blog, the first thing we had was ice kacang. Why ice kacang? The reason is simply because of the unbearable weather. The second thing we had after a long ride round the Crab Island in bicycles was fried ice cream. Ginger has always thought that the inventor of fried ice cream is far too brilliant. Who would ever thought that ice cream can be fried eh? A hot crispy outer jacket with a icy cold inner filling? Slurrpp. Simply marvelous.

After a brief survey with the locals, Ginger and friends stop by this hawker stall with a few newspaper cuttings pasted beneath it's signboard. According to this local, there were two fried oyster stall operating along the small and narrow road. Depending on one's preference, one could choose to go for the starchy oyster or the crispy oysters.

Ginger went for the starchy one and we regretted. We had fried oyster and also fried lala. Both the fried oyster and lala was indeed very starchy. They were too starchy for our liking. The taste of the corn starch masks the taste of the oysters and lala. If Ginger has the chance to go there a second try, Ginger would like to have a try on the crispy instead.

Pun Chun Chicken Biscuits & Restaurant (品珍)

A few months ago, while on my way back to Ipoh after a tiring yet enjoyable day at the Sungkai hot spring (TRAP), Ginger and friends decided to stop by Bidor for its renowned chicken biscuits and duck drumstick noodles.

It was already late evening when Ginger and friends arrived at Bidor. I could still remember that a there was an on-going wedding feast going on at the first floor of this restaurant. Without further ado, Ginger and friends order ourselves a serving of Duck Noodles each and a bowl of wantans.

Ginger was simply chuffed with the duck noodles served. I had dried version instead of the usual duck soup noodles. The duck meat was not overcooked nor it was undercooked. The drumstick was succulent and firm. Meanwhile, the soup base was rich with herbal essence after hours of boiling of the herbs, dried longan, wolfberries and ginger. Something worth mentioning is their wantans. The wantans are wrapped with generous amount of minced pork. Simply delicious!

Pun Chun sells not only duck noodles, but also Chicken Biscuits and Sat Keh Ma. Reviews on these later.

I Love Yoo! (老油鬼鬼), Mid Valley

It was when the swine flu pandemic started to spread across the Malaysia that Ginger fell sick. Having to work when one is down with severe cough and slight fever can be excruciating. I had no appetite back then but I had to eat something to keep my tummy warm. Ginger went looking for porridge round Mid Valley and what I got was this. I Love Yoo! (老油鬼鬼),

Cute name. Don't you think?

The were are few set meals from which you can choose from. Set A offers a serving of crispy chinese cruller with porridge for just RM3.50. Mean while set B offers a serving of chinese cruller together with fresh soy milk for RM3.80. For just RM5.90, you get all three chinese cruller, fresh soy milk as well as porridge. Ginger believes that this is the cheapest set meal you can get in Mid Valley.

Chinese Cruller (Yau Zha Guai) and porridge is a simile to burger and fries. They taste at their best when eaten together. The porridge are not too thin and if you are lucky, you can find a few tiny strips of dried scallop in your bowl of porridge!

Snacks Food Review, Mid Valley

This entry is going to bring you folks to explore the tidbits/snacks food in Mid Valley Megamall. Being a former employee working in Mid Valley Megamall, Ginger likes to spent her 2-hour break strolling round the shopping mall to seek for snacks food that are not too satiating yet meets one's desire to fill their tummy with something.

1. Saint Cinnamon (F046 First Floor)

Quoted from their official website. Saint Cinnamon - "Cinnfully Delicious" - Our world famous cinnamon rolls are irresistible when combined with the sweet seductive aroma emanating from our ovens. Our mandate has been and will continue to be the preparation of our products in full view of our customers.

There are plentiful choices of cinnamon rolls from which you can choose from. There are original cinnamon roll, banana cinnamon roll, pineapple cinnamon, cheese cinnamon rolls, etc. Experts from Saint cinnamon are constantly doing researches on new products as a token of appreciation to cinnamon lovers who never fails to support their product. Banana cinnamon roll is Ginger's all time favourite.

2. Homi Chicken Curry Puffs (LG)
There is this stall selling humongous curry puff right beside the stall selling ice kacang somewhere at the Lower Ground floor. The curry puffs are sold at RM2.00/piece. Rather pricey for a simple snacks like this. But come to think of it, the curry puffs are stuffed with generous amount chicken curry and potato cubes as the de facto ingredient, it is definitely well-worth for its price.

3. French Loaves, Bistro Delifrance (LG052 Lower Ground Floor)
Bistro Delifrance french loaf is always my love. Getting myself a bag of freshly baked french loaf with a thick layer of butter and kaya spread on it every time I pass the Bistro is a habit of mine. Ginger's favourite Delifrance Bistro was the one located in Jusco Kinta City. Ginger can assure you that there is a long queue every time the french loaves are taken right out of the oven. However, the Bistro was no longer there when Ginger visited Jusco the other day. Sad to say, the french loaves sold in Mid Valley Bistro Delifrance are not fresh enough as the moisture in the bread losses over time. This make it difficult to crush the bread even with your molars.

4. Cream Puff, Beard Papa's (LG007 Lower Ground Floor)

Beard Papa's is a Japanese based company. Their trademark product is a choux pastry shell filled with whipped cream custard, available in vanilla, chocolate, and specialty flavors such as green tea, Èclair, and coffee. The company has only one aim that is to produce fresh'n natural cream puffs. Fondant Au Chocolate is another awesome dessert you can find here.

5. Zen by Secret Recipe (TK-01 Third Floor)
ZEN is an extension from the renowned casual dining cafe Secret Recipe, which had first made their mark by setting the fusion menu into tradition and establishing itself as a family oriented café, offering something for everyone. At Zen, patrons can expect to savour some deliciously crafted classic desserts from the pastries, savouries and gateaux array. Zen never fails to satisfy your hunger pangs for a fusion food and desserts!

Char Siew Wong (叉烧王) , Desa Damansara

Dear readers,

First and foremost, Ginger would like to apologize to all for the long absence. In spite of the heavy workload as well as the never-ending exams that Ginger is facing, Ginger never forgets her tasks in seeking good food and quality food. The following posts might be backdated. But Ginger hopes that everyone will still enjoy reading the following entries.

First up, Char Siew Bistro or better known as Char Siew Wong (叉烧皇). This place is a must-go for char siew lovers especially for those who lives nearby Desa Hartamas. How did Ginger come across this place if you ask? Thanks to Ginger's sister and friends who were courteous enough to drive Ginger to all the way to Damansara for a simple yet filling luncheon.

Char Siew (RM6/person)

Ginger shall let the picture speaks for itself. Who could resist the temptation of this succulent and tender piece of meat. This lovely caramelized char siew melts right in your mouth even before you are able to munch it! The secret behind the roasted meat is none other than the maltose which adds the shiny and dripping characteristic to it.

Siew Yuk is another specialty sold here though it may be slightly inferior compared to the char siew mentioned above. It is sold at the price of RM6.00/person. Even the simplest bowl of rice smells so magnificently fragrant. This shop offers lots more other than the roasted pork.

Little Kitchen Restaurant (沙登小厨美食馆)

Little Kitchen Restaurant used to be located right in the middle of Seri Kembangan Chinese New Village, just behind the Post Office. But due to an unfortunate burnt down at the beginning of this year, the owner of Little Kitchen Restaurant decided to relocate its restaurant at the following address: PT 219, Jalan SK 6／1, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

One must-try gourmet recommended by Ginger is the bitter gourd stir fried with salted eggs. Many might be dreaded by the bitterness of the bitter gourd. But fear not. Thanks to the skillfulness of the chef, the dish was made acceptable for everyone's liking, even those who loathe the taste of bitter gourd. The slight saltiness of the salted egg blended in just nicely with the bitter gourd. The smashed salted egg attached on the surface of the bitter gourd gives extra touch to the texture of the dish.

Steamed Threadfin

Another famous dish in Little Kitchen Restaurant is fried Threadfin wrapped with lotus leaf. Ginger did not order the fried Threadfin. Instead we ordered the steamed one. Steamed threadfin is just a bad idea. From what Ginger observed, the other customers who ordered the fried Threadfin fish were satistied with the taste of the dish. For those who have the chance to visit this restaurant, do not hesitate to have a try at its famous fried Threadfin wrapped with lotus leaf.

Mix vegetable (Lotus, celery, cashew nuts, & baby corn)

This fried pork cutlets dressed with mayonnaise is one pleasant-tasting dish. Each table will receive a free bowl of sup of the day. The sup was just a so-so. But what more a we ask for a something that is free, right?

Kim Gary, Queensbay Mall, Penang

Ginger bets that the name Kim Gary is familiar to all. All Kim Gary outlets are always fullhouse and jam pack with on-coming customers. To those who are not familiar with their oh-so-messy self-ordering forms, it could be a hassle to even order a simple meal.

The photos taken below were from two different experiences in two different outlet. The first few were taken in Queensbay mall half a year ago whilst the later were taken in Mid Valley, just recently.

Fried Wan Tan

Fresh Lemon Tea & Fresh Lemon Honey

To those who have not been visiting Kim Gary for quite awhile may not know Kim Gary has done some improvements. All ordering forms are placed neatly in a folder. This way of presentation is more appealing and uniform. Most importantly, it eases the customer to pick the correct order forms.

French Toast

The honey lemon with aloe vera was refreshing. The small aloe vera cutlets improves the mouth feel upon taking drinking. Meanwhile, the french toast was a bit too greasy for my liking. Nonetheless, the taste of the peanut butter does seduces me to take even more bites, satisfying my hunger pangs.

Yip Weng Bak Kut Teh （叶荣肉骨茶）

Klang, the arguable birthplace of bak kut teh, is the only place where you can get amazingly seductive dried bak kut teh and soup based bak kut teh all served on one table. Ginger was spending some quality time with friends around Klang and was brought to dinner at this place, Yip Weng Bak Kut Teh.

This is the first time Ginger tasted dried bak kut teh and it left a deep impression. A good one I must say. The taste is richier than the conventional soup based bak kut teh, suitable for some one who prefer strong aroma and taste like me. The pork slices were cooked with okra and dried chilies.

Meanwhile, the soup based bak kut teh is flavourful. It has a reasonable strong hint of herbs though not overpowering. We had the "bean bubble" (豆卜) with bak kut teh soup. The bean bubble absorbs the soup, making it rich in herbal flavour

If you have yet to try dry bak kut teh, do remember to try one when you get to Klang next time.

Chop N Steak, Seri Serdang

To most of the UPM students, especially the freshies, the name Chop N Steak would be a familiar to them. This is a place where cheap steaks and sandwiches are sold.

This is not a positive food review. To be frank, this is definitely not where you want to be if you are looking for well grilled steaks. The hygienic condition of the restaurant and its kitchen with not up to the bar. But then, if you are yearning for steaks and you are running low in budget, this place can be included in your list.

This piece of cardboard caught my attention. "She'll tell you size doesn't matter. She's lying". Hmm..interesting. Carls Jr. serves burgers in huge sizes. Definitely an effective remedy for those who are struck with overwhelming hunger pangs. There are so much choices to be chosen from. Teriyaki Burger seems not bad of a choice eh?

The process of gulping down this big piece of meat and bread can be messy most of the time. You get this mustard all over your mouth every time you take a bite. It takes great effort for finish up this humongous Guacamole Bacon Burger. But then again, it is the taste that matters right? Ginger will not deny it. I am a big big fan of bacon. This piece of Bacon is simply too savoury and mouth-watering.

Ginger and housemate was hunting for some good food after a tiring day. So we decided to have our dinner at this Hakka Village Restaurant located at Bukit Serdang.

The dinner started off with a sup. It was just what we needed. Ginger and friends really needed a nice bowl of sup after being away from home from so long. The specialties, that is the curry chicken in bread was really zesty. It reminds me of the renowned curry chicken bread sold in Kampar which is very near my hometown. Apart from that, the fried chicken cutlets dipped inside the lemon sauce were also simply awesome. I have to admit. I am not some one who likes the greens. I can't live my life without meat!

Our meal ended with a free pudding (I presume). Not sure if it was included in the bill. All in all, we had a satisfactory experience at Hakka Village Restaurant.

Have you heard of Paratha wrap? Thanks to the sister. Ginger was treated a paratha wrap during an outing in Sunway. For your information, Paratha is originated from India. There are two type of wrappings to be chosen from, ie. the Paratha wrap and the crispy wrap(slightly similar to those sold at night market).

As for the fillings, there are two major types of fillings. One is the savoury fillings and the other one is the sweet fillings. Shown on the last picture is a list the savoury fillings. All you have to do is to choose your wrapping + fillings, be seated on the stools provided and Whoa la! The food is ready to be served in 2 minutes. While waiting for the food to be ready, one could sit in front of the stall and look at the servers preparing your paratha wrap live at the open kitchen. One thing that Ginger noticed is that the workers are definitely generous enough with the cheese fillings. Trust me! You wont regret buying one.

This stall is located just in front of The Manhanttan Fish Market. With just RM3.90, you get this salivary finger food. Eating the paratha wrap can be a little bit messy. But who cares?

Pine Village Restaurant is a Thai Restaurant that serves varieties of Thai cuisine. It is a one of a kind Thai restaurant as it has no fancy design and the restaurant is located close to the flora and fauna(the lake and the hill).

My friend recommended the pandan-wrapped chicken (she is a big fan of banana leaves-wrapped food), so we had one each. The pandan leaf gives a mild taste on the chicken and leaves a lingering aftertaste. Well, everyone loves calamari, don't they? But then the dish was a bit pricey for a simple food like that.

Sin Eng Heong Biscuit (新荣香饼店) is one of the most famous traditional chinese biscuit shop within Ipoh. Thanks to a good friend, this biscuit stall was introduced to Ginger a few months ago. Famous for its fluffly kaya puff, there would always be a queue in front of this stall around 12pm, to 2pm. Ginger could still remember that I paid two visits to this restaurant before I could get a box of fluffy kaya puff. So if you do not wish to make a few visits to this store like I did, all you have to do is make a simple phone call and place your orders.

Great news to Japanese food lovers. Shogun and Saisaki, both Japanese style restaurants are having this unbelievable promotion - 50% offer for lunch (12pm-3pm) and 30% offer for dinner. Gingers and friends made all the way to Sunway promptly at 12pm just to secure a place for the four of us. The bill came to RM98.90 for the 4 of us which made it around RM25.00 for each of us.

Sorry for the lack of photos here. Ginger and friends are too indulged in our big feast. Examples of the food in Shogun are mini sushis, salmon sashimi, raw and cheese baked oyster, fried tempura, softshell crab, chawa mushi, peking duck, snails, mee, spaghetti, cakes, fruits, ice creams, sup, shark's fin, etc.

Among the food that Ginger recommends are the cookies, (I know it's weird to recommend cookies in a Japanese Restaurant...But the cookies are really nice..similar to those of famous amos), Peking duck spring roll, and the shabu shabu.

Yet another famous tidbits sold in Ipoh. Hong Kee Mah Chee is always Ipohian's favourite place to be at when it comes to Mah Chee (Glutinous rice with peanut fillings) and also Peanut paste dessert. This simple stall is located under the tree of Jalan Queen's road side. There used to be a long queue in front of this stall daily. But over the pass one year, the crowd has cut down significantly.

The peanut paste sold here has a smooth enough and you wont be able to resist the fragrant smell of the peanut paste if you are a peanut lover. As for the Mua Chee, the peanuts brittles are simply superlicious.

Ginger was hunting for sweet stuff and decided to drop by Baskin Robbin to quench my "thirst" for desserts. The one in yellow is mango sorbet, a delightful sorbet made with the puree of real Alfonso mangos. Mean while, the chocolate ice-cream is called the brownies mad chocolate. It is a low fat ice-cream. Unlike any other low fat product, the ice cream still retains its sweetness. The junior scoop(shown in the photos above) is at the price of Rm5.80 (inclusive of tax).

Ajisen Ramen is a Japanese Restaurant & Noodle Bar. Ginger and friends happened to pass by this restaurant and noticed a big crowd awaiting to be seated in this restaurant. So out of curiosity and indecisiveness of what we should get ourselves for dinner, Ginger decided to join the crowd.

Gasoline is another concept store you can find in Malaysia. Its design is based on sailing ship like what is depicted in The Pirates of Caribbeans. The idea is magnificent. But when it comes to food, Gasoline is rated way below the radar.

The amount of food served here is huge in portion. Definitely a suitable place for those who has a big appetite. Ginger is not very fond of the baked cheese served as it lacks the tangy, mouldy taste of how a cheese should taste like. All in all, it's a nice place to dine if you are looking for a good environment instead of good food.

Ginger has been absent from this blog for quite awhile. But this does not mean that Ginger has stopped her hunt on good food across the country(not across the globe YET). In order to satisfy the cravings of all my reader, Ginger will bring you to Restaurant Kum Kee, where it is famous for "big small feet"(大小脚). For those who are not from the locals, big small foot refers to pork and chicken's feet.

This restaurant operates from 6pm to 3am. For all the night person, this is one good place for supper! According to the owner, the pork's feet is braised for at least two hours to ensure that the pork fully absorbs the essence of the specially prepared gravy. Tips for girls who cares about their skin: Pork's feet is rich in collagen, a protein which can make your face smoother . Meanwhile, chicken's feet equally as tasty as the pork's feet.

Thanks to a good friend, Ginger-Licious manage to discover an array of creative tit-bits that you cannot find at any place in Malaysia but only in Taiwan.The foods are packed in gorgeous, creative packaging rather than having it in an ordinary synthetic container or paper wrappers. Ginger-Licious and friend are having fun and excitement exploring and excavate the bewildering and mysterious contents of the food.

‘As quoted from X-files: The truth is out there.’ Ginger will now reveal the truth of each bits and pieces. The black oval shape is in fact Quail eggs stewed with soy sauce as seasoning. Hidden inside the pinkish wrapper is a breed of cracker designed in pork ear shape, very similar to a category of Kacang Putih or tit-bits in Malaysia which resembles a hat. Lastly, could you spot the tin located on the bottom left of the picture? You will be able to find biscuits with cute labellings of "Hungry? Grass Alert." So whenever you guys feel hungry, you will find you self reaching the biscuit tin more than ever. All these cute little items are portable and can be easily dropped into your bags.

"Ouch! Mummy I got hurt is bleeding now…" Don't get this wrong this is not a handyplast. What is it? It’s CANDY! There are varieties of flavour ranging from mint, strawberry to chocolate and more! The handyplast-like candy is 100% edible and safe for consumption. Permissable colouring are added to give a colourful hue to attractive more customers. It definitely creates a craving for those who has sweet tooth.

That's not all. The creativity of the designers do not stop here. Any clue on what is inside the pinkish and white wrappers? Tada~ The answer is candyfloss! Aren't the designers simply magnificent to come with the ingenious wrapping and designs? Ginger-Licious is truly in love with it.

In this post, Ginger brings you to an all new experience of Taiwanese fast food served in a tranquil and cozy environment located at Fong Lye Taiwan Restaurant, The Gardens, Mid Valley. Ginger and friends helped ourselves with a sip of freshly brewed rose oolong tea with a traditionally designed chinese tea set.

We decided to have a go on Flour Vermicelli/Mee Sua with pig intestine and also Red wine Fried rice. The previous dish comprises of a thickened soup containing pig intestine served together with the flour vermicelli/mee sua which is of similarity to that of oyster vermicelli (蚵仔面线). It is served with a hotpot placed on a wooden stand to the dish at warm. It tastes a little bit spicy and zesty. Meanwhile, the later, which is Red Wine Fried rice is rather fragant in smell as the red wine added gives a robust aroma which turns this dish into an exceptionally wonderful fried rice.

One day, Ginger suddenly has the crave for Korean food and off I go to the Yea Won Korean Restaurant. It is located at Medan Ipoh Baru, some where near Tesco and Japanese Kizuna Restaurant.

Ginger took the honour to order the Mo Dem BBQ for two which cost a whopping amount of RM50.00 for 100g of meat. There are different type of meat offered but Ginger chose to have pork. The meat is to be served together with the sidedishes wrapped together in the vegetable served dipped into the condiments served. Feel free to ask for refill as the side dishes and also veges are served free in support of eating more greens.

There are three Leong Ya's Indah branches located within the same area, opposite of Serdang's Komuter. They are located 5 minutes away from each other opposite of Serdang's. They are all operated by sibling of the same family. But if you wish to enjoy your meal at a more comfortable place with delicious food and better service, do choose the air-conditioned restaurant located at the first stretch of shophouses.

Their signature food would be paper wrapped chicken and also yong tau fu. Other recommendation from the shop owner is butter milk chicken which is simply superb. The paper wrapped chicken would be a bit salty for those who enjoys a milder taste of the gravy. Do take note that the food would be pricey at times.

Feel like eating Buntong Beef Sirloin Noodles (文冬牛腩粉)? You do not have to go all to buntong/first garden to enjoy such magnificent meal. The franchise of Buntong Beef Sirloin Noodles is located at the town centre somewhere at Jalan Sultan Ekran. Avoid going this place at peak hours (around 7pm-8pm) to avoid the massive crowd. Do remember to get yourself a number tag as food are served accordingly to numbers.

Ginger enjoyed the beef sirloin served together with radish the most. The radish is fresh and the texture is just nice. Beef balls are equally tasty though I did not manage to post the photo here. For all the food served here, it cost roughly RM4-5/person to enjoy such intricate meal!

First of all, sorry for the lack of photos in this entry. Ginger was in a hurry and simply "da bao-ed" the Hokkien Mee at this Hawker stall instead of having the Hokkien Mee on the spot. Sorry for the not-so-pretty photos taken. But Ginger guaratees that the Hokkien Mee tastes better than any other prawn mee that you have tasted.

As according to Ginger's parents, the taste of the Hokkien mee remained as delicious as it was 40 years ago. Its soup base is the secret for their success. The soup base is crystal clear instead of the usual cloudy soup base one would find. The taste of this Hokkien Mee is irresistable. One would be tempted to gulp down the mee and the soup until there's nothing left in the bowl.

Speaking of Ipoh, that is the capital of Perak, Ginger believes that everyone would relate to the beansprout chicken, Yee Hup Hiong Piah and also the oh-so-beautiful natural wonders, that is the caves. Onn Kee Ngar Choy Gai （安记芽菜鸡）is the first in Ginger's list when it comes to beansprout chicken. You can choose to dine in the fully furnished air-conditioned restaurant or you can choose to have your meal just right beside the streets.

Things that you must order when you come to this place : The chicken of course, bean sprout, kuey teow sup, and also fishballs (or rather pork balls??) The food served here is definitely worth every penny you pay. If compared to Lou Wong Ngar Choy Gai (老王芽菜鸡）, Ginger would still recommend Onn Kee as their chicken are tastier and completely cooked, unlike that of in Lou Wong.

In this entry, Ginger will bring you to a thrilling experience at Toilet bowl (T Bowl) concept store at the 5th floor of Queensbay Mall, Penang. This creative idea of the owner has attracted Ginger to dine in at this place. At first glance, some may assume that dining in such places will burn a hole in your pocket. Do not be tricked by its appearance! T bowl actually offers affordable Hong Kong style food with price range similar to those Hong Kong style restaurant such as Kim Gary or Wong Kok.

Credits for the designers. The toilet bowl concept is incorporated in the seat, the table, the menu, and even the tableware. As for the food, they are just so-so. But the idea of eating from a toilet bowl-like tableware will surely boost up one's appetite.

Another must-eat delicacies if you are in Malacca is Sate Celup (Steamboat Satay). Ban Lee Siang （万里香沙爹朱律茶餐室）is the restaurant that Ginger visited during Ginger's trip to Malacca. Ginger and friends drove by this restaurant that was located opposite Pay Fong school and opted a big crowd. Hence, we decided to drop by and give it a go on the satay celup.

There is a popular stall selling Hakka mee(休罗街客家面） located at the town centre (街场）in ipoh. Previously, the Hakka mee stall is located at Yin Yau Kui, opposite Yee Hup, the shop selling Hiong Piah（香饼). Currently, it have shifted to the restaurant just across the main street named Paris restaurant.

For Ginger, the Hakka mee was just of average standard. Instead, the side dishes were the ones that kept me patronising this restaurant. It costs around RM11.60 for one to enjoy 2 bowls of Hakka Mee and also both the side dishes shown above, which is rather unreasonable judging from the fact that it is just an ordinary food stall in Ipoh.

Looking for nightlife? Gurney Drive hawker centre is the place you want to be. It would be a great loss if you miss out the chance to dine in this food haven. There are two long stretches of hawkers located at each side of the aisle providing all sorts of local food. The best thing about this place is that you can enjoy the sea breeze by the sea side after stuffing your tummy with whole lot of food.

This Penang Char Kuey Teow is not the best you can find in Gurney Drive. Ginger is forced to settle down with this plate of Char Kuey Teow as the other stall located beside the Hong Kong Chu Cheong Fun is already closed when we decided to order one.

Penang Asam Laksa (RM3.00)

Ginger personally do not recommend this stall selling Penang Asam Laksa located right beside the fried oyster stall. The service were terrible and the taste were just okay. Ginger recommend all to try on other asam laksa stalls.

This Chee Cheong Fun is one of Ginger's favourite. It is served with prawn paste (虾膏） instead of the usual mushroom or curry gravy. For those who does not like the taste of prawn paste, it is not advisable for one to try it.

Hmm, piccadilly? At first glance, the name piccadilly might appeal to you as some French fine-dining restaurant that serves food that will burn a hole in your wallet. But as the saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover."; neither should we judge the restaurant by its name. Piccadilly provides a combination of local and western food. More than 100 over items are sold in this small yet delicate restaurant. You get to choose from food such as Thai friend rice, grilled chicken chop, ice kacang, burgers, pizza, you name it and they serve it. As for the price, it's pretty reasonable and affordable, I would say.

Speaking of Malacca, what would be the significant landmark or delicacies that pops up on your mind? Fort A Famosa? Christ Church? Maritime Museum? Dodol? Baba & Nyonya's? Ginger is positive that chicken rice balls would be one them, right?

Chop Chung Wah restaurant （中华茶室） is strategically located at the corner lot of this stretch of shophouses found upon the entrance to the streets of Jonker Walk. This place does not have a cozy nor elegant interior. Yet this does not stop the locals and also the tourists from queuing up for what it is famous for -- chicken rice balls.

For ice cream lovers, you don't have to worry that it'll run out of stock as you can make your make up the 3-storey building to grab for more ice cream!!

The restaurant that i am going to introduce in this entry located at Sea Park, seksyen 21, Petaling Jaya. Though they might seem like just another ordinary chinese food that can be found everywhere to all of you; things are not as easy as they seem. The exquisite taste of the noodles is the sole reason of why the food lovers keep on patronising this restaurant. A spoonful of these noodles will leave you craving for more. Well, i guess serving the food on a thin film of plastics laid on top of a newpaper is one special characteristic of this restaurant.

Speaking of Kajang, I bet the first thing that comes to your mind is none other than the Kajang Satay. To all Kajangers, this restaurant, Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri located at the ground and first floor of Bangunan Dato Nazir has become one of the landmark for the city. This restaurant is furnished with air-conditioning and it is a suitable place for families to spend their nights at. Here, the chicken, beef, tripe, liver and fish satays are sold at a reasonable price of RM0.60 per stick. It's another sunny day where Ginger kicked start her day with Hong Kong dim sum at Yoke Fook Moon as her breakfast. Ginger, together with her coursemates gathered at this place to enjoy their last meal in ipoh before we head back to our university.

Yoke Fook Moon offers varieties of dim sum as you can see from the menu on the bottom of this entry. The words scrumptious and sumptuous can be used to describe the food you can find here. Most importantly, the workers there are friendly enough. Thanks the waitress there for being generous enough to let Ginger take the photos of the dim sum and also introduced the food to me one by one.
